deleting multiple messages from an Oracle AQ queue does not work.

Created: 15/Dec/11 06:15 AM   Updated: 09/Jan/12 04:24 AM
Component/s: GUI
Affects Version/s: 1.14
Fix Version/s: 1.15

Environment: Windows7, JDK 1.7, Oracle AQ 11.2

 Description  « Hide
Select two messages from an Oracle AQ queue, press delete.

'Timeout reading from MessageConsumer to delete message'

The generated messageselector to read the selected message looks like:

     JMSMessageID = 'ID;1 or JMSMessageID = 'ID:2'

Apparently OracleAQ evaluates this to true on the first message and completes the evaluation. When the messageselector is expressed as:

    JMSMessageID in ( 'ID:1', 'ID:2'}

The delete works as expected.

Nice suggestion.

I suspect using "in" can be more efficient anyway - I've managed to blow the stack on parsing a very large selector with WebSphereMQ as it uses recursion.
